Issue: Relationships

Relationships represent a core element in every segment of living. As counselors, we have relationships with our colleagues, our clients and their families, our own family, our profession, and very importantly ourselves. We know that to help our clients we must not become enmeshed in their problems quite a trick when their problems have qualities similar to our own unresolved issues.

ERROR MSGBuilding a relationship: My Self

Week 1 - Begin a list of your own issues (at least those of which you are aware). Continue enlarging your list all this week. Keep it close at hand to record sudden moments of insight. As you contemplate these issues, note connections between them and consider if those connections imply other issues you had not yet considered.

Week 2Bohinjsko Jezero hotel booking - Choose one issue from your previous work. Using mapping technique, place the key issues in the center of your paper, and add in the connections you noted earlier. Consider if other connections have suggested themselves to you, and note any of those ideas as well. Discuss with others, connections and/ or ramifications that may be related to your issue.

Week 3 - After the map is completed, write a literary piece, i.e. a story, poem, essay, that conveys your feelings surrounding the issue you have been exploring.

Week 4 - Consider how your feelings will be affected when you have a client with similar concerns. What guidance will you give them?

We care about them; they care about us.
