I have read on another web site that just before ProfessorChow died he promoted Ed Parker to 10th degree black belt! Isthis true?

(Question) Did Professor Chow promote EdParker to 10th Degree Black Belt!

No!

Any doubts, ask Mrs.Parker!

From the early 70's on, Ed Parker and hisformer instructor Professor Chowwere not on good terms.

This was not Ed Parker's fault. Professor Chowresented the fact that Ed Parker wasgetting all the press - all the fame - and all the money!

The fact is, until Professor Chow's death veryfew people knew anything about him! It wasonly after the Professor's death that he started toget the type of credit he deserved.

By the time of Chow's death (1987) EdParker had established his own credentials and didnot want - nor would he accept any advance rank fromProfessor Chow! To do so would put Ed Parker back in a student/teacher relationship.Nor would Ed have accepted it because he was no longer teaching or usingProfessor Chow's system!
