ERROR MSGThis non-profit facility provides such services as independent living, care of persons who need assistance in the activities of daily living, special care for victims of Alzheimers disease and other cognitive disorders and skilled nursing care for the frail elderly. Fairport Baptist Homes is comprised of the 196-bed Alvin C. Foster Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) and the 42-unit DeLand Acres Independent Living Community. Fairport Baptist Homes is located in a residential neighborhood, 12 miles east of downtown Rochester. Visiting hours in the RHCF are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; individual residents of DeLand Acres determine their own visiting hours. Special Care Units (59 beds)There are two units devoted to the care of persons with Alzheimers disease and other cognitive disorders. One unit, consisting of 42 beds, bases its care and programs on Validation Therapy. It is a secure unit and is designed for persons who wander at risk. The second unit -- also secure and consisting of 17 beds -- designs its care and program around goals similar to the first unit, but is designed for the higher functioning dementia person. Haapsalu Hoteles motel baratosNursing Unit (60 beds)Services in this unit range from assistance with activities of daily living to total hands-on care with a staff ratio of 1 nurses aide to every 4.5 residents, plus complete coverage by LPNs and RNs. Assisted Units (77 beds)ERROR MSGStaff in these units assist with medications and activities of daily living and encourage independence. The level and scope of assistance ranges from moderate assistance to enhanced care. All areas of the facility are suitable for residents in wheelchairs. There are lounges and recreational areas, activity rooms, a library, porches, patios and grounds for the residents use. Protestant services are conducted regularly by a staff chaplain, and Roman Catholic services are conducted monthly. Occupational, physical, and speech and hearing therapies are available. Menus are on a 3-week cycle, and therapeutic diets are available. A Director of Therapeutic Recreation plans a broad range of social and recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, a newsletter, birthday parties, shopping trips, outside entertainment and table games. The Womens Service Board, as an auxiliary to the Board of Directors, assists in many of these therapeutic activities and conducts a variety of programs to provide additional financial support to the Homes. There is a Residents Council, and the facility also participates in the Ombudsman program. |
