This facility is a private, skilled nursing home built in the early 1900s. The addition of the west wing was built in 1967, and the south wing was added in 1969. It is situated on beautifully landscaped grounds in a primarily residential block, overlooking Lake Ontario and Lakeshore Country Club. There are 30 single rooms, 85 double rooms and 8 multi-person rooms, each with a bathroom. Lakeshore accepts Medicare and Medicaid applicants. Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

There are a total of 229 residents at Lakeshore. All applicants are accepted, except for current substance abusers. Applicants must be over 16 years of age. Short term admission is permitted, including weekend stays. No pre-payment is required before admission.

Catholic and Protestant services are held regularly. The grounds, patio and porch are used by the residents. Snacks are served between 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and the main meal is at noon. Each floor has its own dining room. Sixty percent of the residents eat in the dining room. Others eat in their own room, near the nurses station or on the porch.

The patients private physician attends to the needs of each resident. There is a full time Activities Coordinator, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker. There is a part-time Physical Therapist. Physical and Occupational therapy is offered five days per week. There is also Aide service for the hearing and visually impaired 24 hours per day. Weekly activities include: bingo, cooking class, Bible class, Mens club, tea parties and picnics.
