Monroe Community Hospital is a 605 bed long term, chronic care facility, owned and operated by the County of Monroe. The hospital is nationally recognized for its research and teaching program in geriatrics and chronic diseases. It is a unique health care institution within the metropolitan area serving residents age 1 month of age to 100 years. This facility also provides rehabilitative care. The 566 bed residential heath care facility designates 354 beds for skilled nursing care and 212 beds for health related care. Monroe Community Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients/residents. Visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Approximately 60% of the residents at Monroe Community Hospital require skilled nursing care. Special nursing units are provided for pediatrics, young adults, wanderers and residents with neurological disorders. Applicants are accepted who meet the admission requirements. All applications are reviewed by a multi-disciplinary admissions work group. A full range of medical services is provided at Monroe Community Hospital through an affiliation agreement with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. |
