TRANSPORTATION SERVICESSubsidized ServicesConnect-A-Ride: 232-6210 Door-to-door transportation for eligible, rural older persons living in Western Monroe County, 24 hours per day. Small fee. Elderberry Express: 248-6237 Transportation available to residents of the town of Pittsford only, provided by volunteers. Limited to one ride per week, fee is by donation. Monday-Friday, 9 am-4 p.m. ERROR MSGFISH: (Friends in Service Here): 453-2370 There are seven FISH groups in Monroe County comprised of volunteers to help the elderly with medical transportation services. The areas covered are Charlotte, Rush Henrietta, Lima, Brighton, Honeoye Falls and Greece. Fee is by donation. Jewish Family Services: 461-0110 Transportation provided for Jewish senior citizens residing in Rochester, Brighton, Irondequoit, and Pittsford. Must be pre-registered with the program, Monday-Friday only. Fee is based on a sliding scale. Lift Line: 426-3530 LiftLine is Monroe County1s service for anyone who is unable to ride the regular RTS bus. Riders must file an application and be certified to use the service. Curb-to-curb transportation for both ambulatory and wheelchair users. Limited service area, 7 days/week. Reservations should be made two weeks in advance in order to guarantee a ride. Medical Motor Services: 654-7030 There are three types of services offered by Medical Motor Service on Mon.-Fri. basis.
- ERROR MSGDoor-to-door transportation is provided for ambulatory patients sharing rides to pre-planned medical appointments. This service is provided only by referral of a physician. Fees are charged on a sliding scale. This service is Medicaid approved.
- Chairmobile is a service for the wheelchair-bound for medical, social, recreational and personal appointments.
- Transportation to and from Nutrition Centers is provided by calling the centers directly.
Project Connect : 232-6210 Information/Transportation Problem Solving:Project Connect is a clearinghouse set up to match people1s transportation needs with resources in the community. Project Connect maintains an up-to-date listing of private and public transportation services. Regional Transit Service: 288-1700 Hotel a cordobaReduced bus fares for senior citizens during off-peak hours (between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and after 6:30 p.m. until end of route) on week days, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Star Program: 262-7050 ERROR MSGCatholic Family Center volunteers provide transportation throughout Monroe County to frail older persons for grocery shopping, doctor appointments, banking and other essential appointments Veterans Service Agency: 241-2401 Volunteer transportation for elderly and disabled veterans who have appointments at local VA clinics. Fee is by donation. Winton Senior Services: 482-3844 Volunteer transportation for senior citizens who reside within their service area. Boundaries are Landing R. N, Highland Ave, Culver Rd, and Empire Blvd. Monday-Friday from 9 am-4 p.m. Fee is by donation.
