General InformationTheExtended Care Facility (ECF) is a 40-bed skilled nursing facility,affiliated with ViaHealth, a familyof health care providers serving Greater Rochester and communities throughoutMonroe, Ontario and Wayne counties. The ECF, located on West Wing 6 ofThe Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York, provides 24-hour skilled nursingcare. The Transitional Care Unit is a part of the ECF and offers short-termcare for patients who do not need acute care services.Our patients and residentshave access to in-house medical care provided by physicians, nurse practitionersand a range of medical specialists. Hospital services are readily availablethrough The Genesee Hospital. Our ancillary services includeaudiology, clinical nutrition, nursing, occupational therapy, ophthalmology,pastoral care, pharmacology, physical therapy, psychiatry, respiratorytherapy, social work, speech therapy, and recreation therapy. Volunteers also play an essentialrole in enriching the quality of life for our ECF residents. In addition,the following amenities are offered: a physical therapy gymnasium, beauticianservices, in-house laundry service, TV, phones, gift shop, and reduced-rateparking.
