NoRTH Committee Identifies Research Priorities
Meeting in Whitehorse, the NoRTH Committee identified its top ten subjects requiring further research.

- Indoor air quality
- Practical and acceptable heating systems
- Low maintenance and durability options
- Handling wastes
- Consumer education
- Affordable housing
- Vapour barrier systems
- Optimizing solar gain
- Constructibility, ventilation and energy education
Although it is not a research body, the Committee recognizes the importance of reducing duplication of research activities and encouraging the development and implementation of appropriate technology. Members feel they can help focus research directions both within their own organizations and in new member agencies. The Committee is actively seeking new members representing all levels of government, First Nations, builders, manufacturers, designers, consumers, financial bodies, health and environmental groups.
