Although our name suggests we are an acute care hospital, MCH isreally a fully certified residential health care facility and home to 566residents. We provide long-term care for individuals with complex healthconditions-those who require higher levels of medical and nursing care.

We offer a wide variety of rehabilitative services on-site, includingphysical, occupational, speech, respiratory, and recreation therapiesalong with in-house dental, ophthalmology, and podiatry services. MCH isalso the only facility in the seven-county region surrounding Rochesterwhich provides long-term care for individuals with symptomaticHIV-infection.

We are truly a community at MCH and residents can enjoy a variety ofpursuits: There are organized resident groups such as a computer club, aresident choir, and drama club, as well as a resident newspaper which iscreated and published entirely by MCH residents. The NeighborhoodAssociation is another unique group at MCH which holds regular meetings tokeep residents informed about issues and activities at the facility.

The residents' living areas also have just recently been completelyrenovated. Residents also have convenient, on-site beautician and barberservices, a gift shop, the MCHAUX Market and Thrift shop, cashier andbanking services, cable television and telephone service, and laundryservices at the facility.
