Going it alone doesn't always work when it comes to growing older. Agingadults need the understanding and friendship of their peers. Those caringfor their loved ones at home need occasional breaks to manage theirpersonal and professional lives. A Touch of Home Adult Day Service canhelp.

A Touch of Home programs are located in Rochester and Fairport. A Touchof Home is a social model day service, run by a staff of experiencedprofessionals who plan a wide range of recreational and social activitiesdesigned to benefit seniors, including seniors suffering from memoryimpairment. We offer affordable transportation, nutritious snacks andlunches, as well as caregiver support.

Our warm, intimate settings and small program size help participants feelat ease and connect with one another. A typical day at A Touch of Homebegins with a cup of coffee and a discussion of the morning headlines,followed by a game of horseshoes or a trip to the museum. Participantsdecorate cookies during the holidays, visit toddlers at a local child carecenter, and exercise to music. They talk about "the way it was" and bragabout their grandchildren. During all of this, they develop new and lasting friendships.
