The Episcopal Church Home was established in 1868. Our core facility is tucked into a corner of Rochester's historic Mount Hope Avenue neighborhood, on the banks of the Genesee River. Originally, the Home was a haven for widows and young children in need of a family. They found one at the Home. The Home provided each resident with care, guidance, friendship, support and love. Over the years, a lot has changed at The Episcopal Church Home. Today, we provide a full spectrum of care for older adults and their families. We reach out to more people than ever before, in ways our founders never imagined. Our family tradition, however, remains intact. Residents and program participants receive the help they require in a manner that preserves their dignity and self-respect. This careful attention to individual need has earned The Episcopal Church Home a reputation for excellence. The Episcopal Church Home offers a spectrum of care, including both residential and community services. Every resident and program participant is a member of our family -- sharing the wide expertise of highly trained staff members throughout our organization. Striving to improve quality of life, we encourage and enable our family members to take part in a variety of activities tailored to meet individual interests and capabilities.
