Size

Rochester Presbyterian Home is a 100 bed adult home. Approximately 63 beds are dedicated to caring for those with early to middle stage dementia. The remaining 37 beds are dedicated to providing the best traditional adult care for those who can least afford to pay for these services.

Location

R ochester Presbyterian Home is located at 256 Thurston Road, near Marlborough and Inglewood Drive. It is four minutes from the airport and three minutes from the Chili Avenue and Brooks Avenue exits of 390. Coming from the Brooks Ave. East exit off 390, you can easily turn left on Genesee Park Blvd. and then turn right (east) on Marlborough Ave. As you approach Thurston Road on Marlborough Drive you will be impressed with the stately "old Rochester charm" that this beautiful building and the surrounding grounds project. RPH is often a stop on the annual house tour of the 19th Ward. The back of our lot borders a public elementary school with an overlooking view of a large playground.

History

1925: Helen Mar Niven donated her family home and two acres of land on Thurston Road to establish a home for elderly.

1927: Philanthropist Mary Skinner Dunn donated $125,000 to build what for years was referred to as North Hall housing 50 residents.

1966: The four-story 60,000 square foot South Hall was built with nearly $2 million in bequests and endowments from contributors among 81 area Presbyterian churches.

1979: A joint homes committee, composed of members of Rochester Presbyterian Homes Board of Trustees and Valley Manor's Board of Directors, purchase Pavilion Nursing Home property in order to establish a sister organization, Kirkhaven, which will provide skilled nursing care. Kirkhaven opened its doors in 1984.

1990: Van is purchased to accommodate day trips. Limited renovations to 1966 building were made.

1994: An early to middle stage dementia unit, opens to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals with dementia.

1997: Alzheimer's Special Care services are expanded to a total of 63 beds.

1997: ERROR MSGRenovation of bedrooms in 1927 building, for traditional adult care residents.

The Rochester Presbyterian Home takes great pride in providing excellent care through our caring, well-trained staff. Our favorable staff to resident ratio makes us unique among adult care facilities and allows us to customize our care to meet the unique needs of each resident.

Case-Management: Two Certified Social Workers

Medical Care:
On-site Physician Assistant: 20 hours per week
On-site Physician: 6-8 hours per week
On site Psychiatric Nurse: 8 hours per month
On-site Psychiatrist: 4 hours per month
On-site Podiatrist: 4 hours per month
On-site Audiologist: 4 hours per month

Fees and Services

All rooms are private rooms and all rooms have their own bath room facilities.

The Adult Living Center at RPH (providing traditional adult care) Private Pay Rate: $2,100 per month

We can adjust this rate based on each individuals ability to pay and can accept the SSI Level II rate.

The Dementia Care Center at R.P.H.

Fee for those living on the 2nd and 3rd floors
Private Pay Rate: $2,300 per month
