accommodation in PalermoKirkhaven has opted to create its own in-house end-of-life care program called, "Teach Us To Number Our Days." This program includes environmental enhancements, staff training and pain management. Our philosophy is that residents who are in the final stages of life benefit from extra support and amenities with their care, as well as the support of their families and special friends. Such enhanced services enrich their comfort as they approach death.

Kirkhaven's end-of-life care program is provided by Kirkhaven staff, and augmented by volunteers as appropriate. Our goal is to provide comfort to residents (in their own rooms) and their families . This type of care has demonstrated clinical, psychosocial and spiritual benefit. Kirkhaven's, "Teach Us To Number Our Days" care may include any of the following services: one-to-one care, bathing in the Century tub, soft music, soft lighting, comfortable chairs for visitors, one-to-one support to family/friends, with easy accessibility to refreshments, pain management, and spiritual support.
