| ERROR MSGN e w s F l a s h ! Here are the latest news as of December 2000: ADDENDUM TO ERROR MSGKIRKLAND LAKE MINERALS INC. REPORT ON COMPANY ACTIVITIES WESTERN ABITIBI SUBPROVINCE SUPERIOR PROVINCE five star hotel in BrugesPROVINCE OF ONTARIO SEPTEMBER 1998 1.0 INTRODUCTION During the years 1999 and 2000 additional reconnaissance geologic mapping, prospecting and limited sampling was carried out on the original Claim 1225541 (now 1241832) located southeast of the community of Boston Creek Station in the North Half of Lot 2, Concession V, Township of Pacaud. The initial exploration program is described in the above report on company activities. 2.0 DISCUSSION In addition to the geologic mapping and prospecting on Claim 1241832, two additional claim units contiguous to Claim 1241832 were added to the company holdings, directly north and to the immediate northwest (Claim 1242803). Again reconnaissance geologic mapping and prospecting was carried out on this claim during the years 1999 and 2000. The claim is located along the regional geologic strike northwest of the gold bearing formation discovered on claims belonging to Atapa Minerals Limited which adjoin Kirkland Lake Minerals Inc. Claim 1241832 to the southeast. The inferred Pacaud Fault also crossed KLM Claims 1242803 and 1241832 diagonally. In the year 2000, four additional claim units were added to the KLM holdings in the adjacent Township of Catharine to the east (North Half of Lot 9, Concession VI Claim 1242734). Exploration work has not been carried out by KLM as yet and is planned for the 2001 season. ERROR MSGThis claim falls within Archean intermediate to acid volcanic rocks approximately 1.5 kilometers due west of the former Cathroy Larder gold mine in the same intennediate to acid volcanic rocks. The Catharine Township Claim 1242734 covers two areas of low airborne electromagnetic conductance response which could prove interesting when field checked. 3.0 CONCLUSIONS The properties acquired by Kirkland Lake Minerals Inc. over the past few years continue to be of economic interest warranting further detailed exploration. Claim 1242734 in Catharine Township adds significantly to the company's portfolio. The airborne electromagnetic lows on this claim are considered prime drilling targets. All the properties held by KLM fall within areas that show significant promise based on past history. Ian D. Wilson, P. Eng.
