
The Rochester Area Association of Homes & Services for the Aging, Inc. (RAHSA) is an association of 15 members which are not-for-profit and public long term care facilities providing services to over 3700 residents. RAHSA was incorporated in 1960 and is affiliated with the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) and the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (AAHSA).  The purpose of RAHSA is to provide leadership, advocacy and assistance for the development and delivery of quality long term care and housing services in cooperation with the not-for-profit and public institutions serving the aging.  RAHSA adopts and promotes positions on medical, social, financial and public policy issues that affect access to and delivery of long term care services and assists in the development of cost-effective long term care services through multi member program planning. RAHSA acts as a central clearinghouse for the collection, exchange and dissemination of information on long term care and conducts educational and awareness programs for members and the general public.
